I'm running the 64-bit version of ME-80 in the 64-bit install of Ableton Live 9.6 (Windows 8.1, Intel CPU).
If I add ME-80 to a track, select a patch, save the Ableton Live project, close Live and then open Live again, the ME-80 VST sound is incorrect.
To solve this, I have to open the ME-80 control panel, press instrument up and then instrument down to get it to remember the settings that I had it set to when I saved the Ableton Live project.
So far I haven't had any similar issues with other VSTs in Ableton Live.
I've also ruled out any program change data (in both the clip properties and in the note information).
I've contacted Ableton support and they claim that it isn't their problem and that I should contact the developer of the VST.
Personally, I feel that the Ableton team could make this work from their end (just the process that I outlined above seems to prove it since anything I can do to the interface as a user, they can do in code).
Anyway, I thought I'd run this by you and see what you thought.
